For bar staff, waiters and anyone on a rota

Shifts change with the rota, tips go who knows where, and the payslip is a wall of codes. Here’s the bit PayJar handles.

No idea what’s coming until the payslip lands.
Today, this week and this pay period, added up shift by shift, whether you’re paid weekly, fortnightly, every four weeks or monthly.
Holiday pay? On zero hours?
Turn it on and PayJar adds 12.07% to every shift on its own line, so you know what to look for on your payslip.
Tips, tronc, service charge. Where does it all go?
Log cash, card and your tronc share on each shift. They’re kept apart from your wages, because tips never count towards the minimum wage.
The payslip’s short and you can’t say by how much.
Enter the gross on your payslip. PayJar compares it with the shifts you logged and tells you the difference.
Two taps, plus a minute for your tips. The numbers below are an example; yours come from your own shifts.
Forgot? Pick the time you actually started.
Breaks can come off on their own, once you set them up.
Cash, card and tronc. Quicker than finding your coat.
Earned tonight£142.21
That’s £20.32 an hour with tips, before tax. Your tips sit on their own line, never in the minimum wage sum.
The minimum for your age, holiday pay and tronc, the way they show up on a UK payslip.
£12.71 an hour at 21 and over, £10.85 at 18 to 20, and £8.00 at 16 or 17 and for apprentices under 19 or in their first year, from 1 April 2026. If your rate is under, PayJar says so.
For irregular hours, added to every shift on its own line, premiums included.
Each on its own line, kept apart from your wages.
Put in the gross from your payslip and see if it matches what you worked, or by how much it doesn’t.
No account to make. Your shifts, pay, tips and notes are saved on your phone, and we don’t have a copy.
