    £12.71 an hour at 21 and over, £10.85 at 18 to 20, and £8.00 at 16 or 17 and for apprentices under 19 or in their first year, from 1 April 2026. If your rate is under, PayJar says so.

Questions

Is PayJar free?
Yes. Clocking in and out, holiday pay, tips, checking your payslip, your full history and Excel or CSV exports are free. Pro is a one-off purchase for unlimited jobs, PDF timesheets and bonuses or deductions.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up. Everything is saved on your phone.
Does it work out holiday pay?
Yes. Turn on holiday pay in Settings and PayJar adds 12.07% of each shift’s pay, the rate for irregular-hours and part-year workers. Try the holiday pay calculator.
Can I log tronc?
Yes. Log your tronc share next to your cash and card tips. Tip-out only applies to cash and card tips, as the tronc is already split.
Does it work out tax and National Insurance?
No. PayJar estimates your gross pay, before tax and National Insurance, so you can compare it with the gross figure on your payslip.
What data does the app send?
Only if you turn it on: anonymous usage statistics (for example, “exported a PDF”) and crash reports, without amounts, job names or notes. We never see your shifts or pay. The details are in the privacy policy.
Is this legal advice?
No. PayJar gives estimates for your own records. Your payslip is the official record, and GOV.UK explains your rights.
