Frequently asked questions

How do I move my data to a new phone?

iPhone: in Settings, open Backup and back up to iCloud. On the new phone, tap “Restore from iCloud” on the welcome screen.

Android: with Android backup on, your data comes back when you restore your phone.

On either, you can also use “Export backup file” in Settings and “Import backup file” on the new phone.

I bought Pro. How do I get it back on a new phone?
Open the Pro screen and tap “Restore purchase”, signed in with the Apple ID or Google account you bought it with.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple or Google, so refunds do too: on iPhone at reportaproblem.apple.com, and on Android from your Google Play order history.
How do I export my hours?
On the Pay period screen, tap “Share or export”. CSV and Excel are free; the PDF timesheet comes with Pro.
My pay doesn’t match my paycheck. Why?
Check your hourly rate, your country and its overtime and premium rules in Settings, and your breaks. PayJar estimates gross pay, before taxes and deductions, so compare it with the gross amount on your paycheck or payslip. If it still doesn’t add up, email us the shift details.
Does PayJar work offline?
Yes. Everything works without an internet connection. It only needs one to back up to iCloud, to buy or restore Pro, and to send usage statistics and crash reports if they’re on.
How do I turn off usage statistics?
Go to Settings › Privacy and turn off “Anonymous stats”. That stops both usage statistics and crash reports. If your country in PayJar is the United Kingdom, they start off. See the privacy policy for what they include.
How do I delete my data?
Delete shifts or jobs in the app, or uninstall PayJar to remove everything on your phone. For backups and exports, see deleting your data.
A minimum wage or rule is out of date.
Tell us which one and, if you can, link the official source. We check US rates in January and July, UK rates in April, Australian rates in July and Japanese rates from October to December.
